Sept 2006

I had my reversal surgery on December 18, 2006. My husband and I recently found out that we are expecting on April 27, 2007. We are so excited.

We can't thank Dr. Perez and everyone at Rio Bravo enough. This is truly a blessing. A blessing that a year ago we never though could be possible.

January 2006

Hello, my name is Geannie, and my husband and I traveled down to Mexico on December 18 to have my surgery. The trip there went fine. When Marcos brought us to the hospital we found out that there was an emergency with one of their regular patients so we had to go and stay at a hotel for the night. Marcos brought us to La Mansion. It was a very nice hotel, and very quiet. If you ever have to stay there no worries.

In the morning as soon as my husband and I were picked up and brought back to the hospital it was time to prep me for surgery. Everything happened so fast that I didn’t even have time to get nervous about the surgery. I was ready to go in no time. Dr. Levi came in and asked me some questions and answered some of mine, and then it was time to go.

Once I got to the OR Dr. Moreno administered the epidural, and then after that I don’t remember anything until the very end. When I woke up they were just closing me up. I thought I had slept the whole time, but my husband said I barely slept at all. Apparently I was mumbling and moving around the whole time. They almost had to come in and give me regular anesthesia because I wouldn’t stop moving. I felt kind of embarrassed and bad about that, but I don’t remember doing any of that.

A few hours after surgery Dr. Levi came in my room and had a talk with me. He is such a personable guy. When I read all the testimonies and everyone had all those wonderful things to say about him I wondered if it was really true. It really is. Dr. Levi will sit and chat with you about just about anything. He even teased me about how I wouldn’t stop moving during surgery. Anyway, I was told that everything look great. I had 5-6 cm on the left side and 6-7 on the right side. I wasn’t given any kind of percentage on conceiving, but Dr. Levi did say that the only way I wouldn’t get pregnant is if my husband wasn’t doing his job right. I was so happy to hear all of that. I had cancer when I was 21 and went through six months of chemo, so I was worried that there might be something wrong inside of me when they opened me up. I was so happy to hear that the chemo didn’t damage anything.

The first night was kind of rough for me. I was okay lying down, but anything else was kind of painful. My husband said something to make me laugh and it hurt so badly. The next morning Dr. Levi came and talked to us one more time before Marcos brought us back to the airport. He gave me my meds and made sure that there we no more questions.

Everything about my trip went better than I could have ever hoped. Any doubts or worried that my husband and I could have had were immediately quashed when we got there. I would recommend going to Dr. Perez to anyone. Dr. Levi is great. He makes you feel right at home when you get there. Marcos is wonderful too. He really goes out of his way to make sure that you’re taken care of. I am now just waiting for the time to come to start trying to get pregnant. I will keep you updated.
