Hi, my name is Lisa Thornhill, and my husband is Mike Thornhill.  I am 37 and he is 40.  My husband and I have three children, son (11), son (5), and daughter (3).  We thought that we were finished having children, so during my third c-section with my daughter, I had my tubes tied. I regretted it immediately after the surgery, and my husband regretted it a bit later on.  So, we decided to have a reversal!  Thank GOD that is an option!!!  So we did lots of research (2.5 years of research!!) and thankfully we came across Dr. Perez.  Once we found him, we did more research on him. I read every single testimony, and joined a few support groups.  Our mind was made up, Dr. Perez was the very best choice we could make.

So the journey begins....my husband Mike and I left our three children with my mom, dad and brother (yes, it takes 3 to watch our children!! LOL).  We arrived at the SeaTac Airport early in the morning on February 12,2005.  We had a long flight to Houston, TX, then changed planes and on to Harlingen, TX.  Fanny met us at the airport at about 8:45 PM, and we arrived at the hospital in Rio Bravo, Mexico at about 9:25 PM. I have to say that I was terrified. The moment we crossed the border, the fear set in. I wanted to turn around and go home so badly.  Mike, my husband was also pretty apprehensive! But we continued on.

We got to the hospital and Dr. Levi met us outside immediately.  That was a tremendous relief. I had spoken to Dr. Levi several times during the scheduling process, so when I finally met him, I was relieved.  He made us feel so welcomed and at ease. My fears began to subside a tiny bit. We were immediately escorted into our room. It was a very nice an comfortable room. Dr. Levi helped us complete the paperwork and told us which room our friends (that we met on a support group) were in. Their names are Kathy and Pete. We went into their room, and Kathy had just had her surgery. She was doing great, so that really helped ease some more of my fears. She ended up with great lengths and was recovering nicely. We chatted for a long while and then Mike (my husband) and I went to our room and watched movies. (We brought a portable DVD player). Then went to sleep for the night.

The next morning, February 13, 2005, at 7:30 the nurses came in to insert my IV. I have heard they do great work, but unfortunately on me, they could not find my vein. I have that problem a lot, so do not blame it on the nurses, but it hurt so much, and I was so relieved when they finally got it in. Then we waited, waited and waited.  Nobody came in at all.  My friends came in and wondered why we were not in surgery yet. She went to the nurses station and found out that an emergency surgery came in and that was the reason for my delay. At approximately 11:30 am, they came in and wheeled me off. I was so nervous!! I saw Dr. Perez and the staff.  I also saw the cross, and felt more at ease.  They gave me the medicine, and I dozed in and out. I was mostly awake however. They began the procedure, and I immediately felt at ease.  Finally for the first time while there, I was at peace and ease!!! The care was phenomenal and the doctors were so very caring. No longer during my entire stay was I ever scared from that moment on.

After the surgery, I now have tube lengths of 6 on the left and 5 on the right.  I also had a hernia that I did not know I had, and they repaired that too. They were wheeling me out of the operating room and Dr. Perez was sitting by the door.  I told him “Thank You!!!!”  He nodded and smiled back! He is amazing!!

We went home the next day, February 14, 2005 (Valentine’s Day!) and I was in pain from the long flight, but the recovery was not too bad.  I was so happy to see my children and so happy to be whole again!!!!!  Thank you Doctor Perez!!!

On April 19, 2005, I had an HSG and both tubes are wide open. Bless you Doctor Perez!!

If you are thinking about using Dr. Perez, I say GO FOR IT!!  I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!
