November 2006

Hello!  Once in a while I check the website for any updates and when I see news of a pregnancy update it makes me very happy!

Today, I have an update. I had my reversal done on 6-30-06.  Today Nov. 3rd my doctor confirmed that I am about 6 weeks pregnant.  I want to thank you all again from the bottom of my heart, this miracle would not be happening without your help. I have an ultra sound scheduled to make sure the baby is in the right spot (please say a little prayer for me).

I didn’t believe I would be able to get pregnant so please do not get discouraged if you are trying. Again thank you all!

Rosa

July 2006

My name is Rosa Beristain I am 38 years old and I'm from Chicago. I had my TR on Friday June 30th. My son Mark was my companion. We flew in from Chicago at 6:00 am and arrived in McAllen at 10:52am. Dr. Levi's father in law arrived about 20 minutes later to pick us up, he dropped of a couple at the airport and then we dropped off another nice couple from California at a hotel.  I met Dr. Levi and his beautiful wife as soon as we walked in to the hospital. Dr. Levi is very kind and has a good sense of humor. We were given room #3 which was very clean and it smelled so good. Dr. Levi talked to me and my son for a while about everything. He asked me if I had any questions about the surgery and I told him I did not, I felt very good about them performing the surgery.  After speaking to him I had no doubt that the doctors would do their best for me. I was prepared and taken to surgery at about 4:00 pm while my son slept.

The one thing that did worried me about the whole trip was what the doctors would find when they tried to repair my tubes. I had my tubes tied in 1994 by a doctor in the US who was kind of bothered by the fact that I went into labor with my 4th child 2 weeks before my due date. She seemed to be in a big hurry while performing my TL. She told me she had tied and put a clamp on my tubes but what she actually did was burn them.   The doctors were very nice and caring throughout the surgery they had to remove scar tissue and some other stuff. I was left with 4cm on the left tube and 5 on the right. I asked Dr. Levy what my chances were and he said that my husband had to be really good in order for me to get pregnant. No matter what happens I now feel whole again. It's been about 17 days since I had the surgery and I feel great.

I never had any fears about going to Mexico because of all the testimonies I read on the website thank you all for taking the time to share your experiences. The doctors, nurses and Dr. Levi's father in law (shuttle driver) were all wonderful and caring people they made me feel very welcome and at home. They took very good care of me and my son Mark. The food was great my son loved being there he wants to go back to Rio Bravo for a visit some time in the future. If you are having doubts about going Mexico to have the surgery done please know that you will be in very capable and caring hands.

Thank you everyone in Rio Bravo you are all wonderful people! and I also wish the very best to everyone who is going to have the surgery and those that have already had your surgery, I will pray so that you all have healthy babies!
