Sept 2006 Later that evening they came for me in a wheelchair and took me into the surgery room. The first thing I looked for was the cross above the door and said a little prayer. I got up on the bed and they asked me to lay on my side. They put some medicine in my IV that made me relaxed and I don't remember if the epidural hurt or not. I stayed awake most of the surgery and I could hear them talking. When I heard Dr. Perez say that the tubes were burnt all the way to the end on the right side and on the left there was about 2.5cm left I wanted to cry. Wesley was with me the whole time and he just kept telling me that everything was OK and he loved me. They kept asking me if I was OK. After the surgery they took us back to the room and it felt weird because I could not feel my legs at all. Dr. Levi came in and talked to me and explained what they found. The Dr. who did my TL burnt my right tube to the end and only left 2.5cm on the left side. They repaired the left side and now all we can do is pray that we are able to conceive a child. Early that morning when the numbness went away I felt pain but the nurse came in and gave me some medicine and the pain went away. Dr. Levi came in and checked on me first thing in the morning. We talked a little and he was very comforting and was able to answer the questions we had. We went to a hotel in Mexico and it was great. Our plane didn't leave till Sunday so we had that evening and the whole next day to rest and to walk thru town. The shuttle driver told us about some really good places to eat and it was great.
On Sunday the shuttle driver picked us up and took us to the
airport. I was just a little sore but didn't need a wheel chair at
the airport. I walked a little slower but managed well. Now I am at
home and it is a week later and I am back at work. I have a desk job
so I don't have to do a lot of walking or lifting or turning of any
kind. I feel great and am looking forward to going in a few weeks to
get an HSG test done.
I thank the Lord above for helping us find Dr. Perez and Dr. Levi.
If you are having any doubts about going to Mexico, DON'T it was the
best thing we could have done. |
