I am now 24 weeks pregnant, and we know we are having a little boy. We are going to name him Dylan James. He will be born on May 5th, 2009 via C-setion. Every time I feel him moving, kicking, and hiccupping I stop and thank God for the wonderful care that I received at Rio Bravo. Thank you for this blessing!

September 2008

August 2008

Hello! We got our BFP on 8-23-08  We found out 6 months to the day after my TR surgery that we are expecting! Thank you to Dr.. Perez and Dr. Levi and the many others at Rio Bravo that helped make this dream a reality.

February 2008

My name is Amanda Felty. I have three wonderful children from my first marriage. Twin girls who turn 11 in April, and a son who turns 10 in May. Ten years ago I decided to get a tubal ligation after my son was born. I remarried two years ago, and my husband doesn't have any children. He is the kind of man that is wonderful with children of all ages, and I could see the desire to have a child of his own in his eyes everyday. We really prayed about what was the right thing to do before we committed to talking about getting the surgery. We did lots of research on different hospitals and doctors in the U.S. that did reversals, but there was always something that didn't feel right or work out every time we looked deeper into details. After months of no searching we finally decided that it was just not meant to be.

I went for my yearly check up, and decided that I would give it one more try by talking to my doctor about a tubal reversal. The nurse that took me to the room saw it written on my paperwork, and she began to tell me about her experience with Rio Bravo. The best part was she was 22 weeks pregnant!!!  She is our Angel! I remember sitting in the room with tears rolling down my cheeks just praising GOD for sending this woman to me at a time when I was ready to give up.

We flew to McAllen, TX, and would highly recommend flying for anyone that is planning on going for surgery. We got our tickets a month in advance on Priceline for a really good price, and we even got a good deal on parking our vehicle at the Thrifty Parking. The shuttle came and picked us up to take us across the boarder, and once across the boarder he pointed out places such as gas stations, restaurants, and etc... It was helpful to have that. We ate at a restaurant nearby and the food was great. Everything was in Spanish and no one there could speak English, but it was so much fun for my husband and I. Really overall the language barrier was not as bad as I had thought it would be. The people were friendly and tried their best to accommodate us. The nurses at the hospital were great, and even down to the women that cleaned our room and brought our food. They all had smiles and seemed very pleasant.

Dr. Jose and Dr. Levi were just awesome! Dr. Levi sat down with my husband and I am talked to us like family , and trust me you do not see that everyday in the states. It is in and out and as fast as you can please. Those staff that were in the operating room with me were just great, and I could feel that they really cared and wanted me to be comfortable even if we could not communicate that great to each other at times. I would in a heartbeat recommend to anyone this hospital!!

Dr. Perez did a fantastic job. I am impressed with how well I feel, and how little pain I am having. (other than when I stand up or more around in bed) My husband and I are excited about counting down the days! A huge THANKS to everyone that helped us at the hospital, you have no idea how grateful we are to you. We thank God everyday since returning home that there is a place for hope and a new life to begin again.
